...The Three Amigos
Ashford Manor, Long Island

Where could they possibly be? Almost a week had come to pass since William ashford had discovered that his parents along with his aunt and uncle had disappeared without a word or trace. What could have happened? It was dangerous as all the arcanists could sense the storm brewing behind the curtain of the shadow realm. Something was coming, something none of them could predict with the exception of the Diviner kin--even though he held no credibility to their so called prophecies. What good was having the power to tell the future if one couldn't foresee the enchanters current mess? Ever since the feud back in the early twentieth century between the necromancer and diviner families, communication between the arcane bloodlines had periodically deteriorated. The families only met when it was absolutely necessary and most only looked out for their own members with a few exceptions. To say the arcanists were cliquey was an understatement. For the time being he had been able to hide the fact that his cousins and sister were the only others remaining under the manor's roof. He didn't know what was going on with the other families but it would seem at the moment he was Head of the Enchanter family, which meant it was his job to see to their safety. What would his uncle do?

At the age of twenty-eight, William had been preparing to take over after his uncle--it was what he was trained to do after all but it was too soon. As the oldest it was up to him to assume his rightful place within the family. While his rise to power should have been an honor, he wasn't pleased with the situation. It wasn't supposed to be this way for the enchanter. To say he was resentful would have not been completely incorrect. Crystal blue hues stared at the papers on his uncle's desk in the vast family library. The end of his pen would tap along the reports he was supposed to review, and yet he couldn't concentrate. Fingers would curl inward as his fist slammed down against the desk, the sound echoing across the room. Lorelei had been worried about him, his minx of a cousin had no qualms speaking her mind. On this rare occasion the cousins agreed, Ashford Manor was the safest place for them. At the moment she was no where to be seen but he wasn't surprised to hear her raised voice all the way on the opposite side of the house to greet his old friend Gavin. Lips formed a straight line as he shook his head, those two never coulees share a civil moment although he had his suspicions. While the conjurer needed no invitation, William had asked him over.

It was time to act and reach out to the other bloodlines. Impatiently tugging at the tie around his neck, thumb and index finger would slip the first two buttons open of his crisp white button down shirt. He had taken the opportunity to leave work early that morning, William didn't feel right staying away from the Manor too long in their current situation. Jaw firmed, the confrontation was delaying his friend. Without bothering to wait, William reached over and tapped the mirror sitting on his desk. Some time ago the enchanter had taken the liberty of altering a few items found within his and his friends homes. Of course they looked like ordinary objects but true to his family, they had a knack for finding new functions for things lying around their home. In this case this particular mirror had been enchanted to project his image and receive the other using its pair. It had its uses. "Gideon, you there?". His voice would sound distant at first but would quickly grow in volume as he insistently tapped on the clear surface.

“Get out of my way, Ashford!” Shouted an angry Gavin Mitchell. Sage-green eyes glared into the emerald-hued beauty as she stood blocking his passage. The auburn beauty shook her head as she crossed her arms over her ample chest. “Will doesn’t need to be seeing you.” Shifting weight on his left to right foot, Gavin growled low. “He invited me over.” He stepped forward challengingly but Lorelei would place her slender arm over the door to block it. “I don’t think so.” Gavin could see this task was becoming futile with William’s protective younger cousin standing in the way.

A quick dash forward would cause Gavin to ram his shoulder into Lorelei’s stomach to stun her as he hoisted her up onto his shoulder. “Put me down you great ape!” Her fists slamming into his shoulders while her foot slammed into his groin. A grunt escaping the conjurer as he moved to the couch, depositing Lorelei down roughly. A glare narrowed in her emerald eyes as she stared at the incorrigible hunter.

Gavin would discard the fiery tempered huntress on the couch as he walked down the long hallway. Walking past the foyer, Gavin's shined black sketchers easily walked across the shiny white floors. Descending further down the hallway, Gavin glanced towards the library as he could hear William's voice. Walking down the hall and to the right Gavin stood in the hallway seeing William sitting in a chair. He could hear his best friend calling out to Gideon.

Walking over beside Will, Gavin pulled out the wooden chair as he sat down. His dark blue jeans bathed in the warm glow of the sunlight from the nearby window. Rays of light pouring in through the vertical blinds. A quick pull of his sleeves would hike his black v-neck sweater up his forearms revealing the silver watch on his left wrist. The sparkle of his ring glimmered on his right ring finger. Gavin's necklace his brother gave him lay underneath his sweater. He listened quietly to the conversation. The situation was serious and clearly it needed all hands on deck.

The Three Amigos Empty Re: The Three Amigos

Post  Gideon Shaw Tue Oct 12, 2010 6:20 pm

Mom and Dad had been gone for nearly a week now and without a trace of their whereabouts or an answer of their cellphone it didn't bode well for the transmuter family. Gideon had come to Shaw manor itself to investigate his parent's disappearance. Izaak Shaw the now former head of the Shaw family had a study within the heart of the manor where a great deal of his work was stored. Normally, Izaak kept the office's door seal shut literally allowing only himself or members of his family entrance when he was out. Luckily Gideon, who was the obvious successor for his father, was able to open the office with relative ease. He now found himself going through stacks of papers most of them concerned with his parent's lumber and construction company, something Liam would know much more about.

Gideon's panic concerning his parents had forced him to take a few days off from work to figure out what was going on and ensure that everything would be alright. Exhausted from hours of fruitless searching, Gideon found himself dressed in a simple pair of dark blue basketball shorts and a white V-neck shirt. His crystal blue eyes would now begin to glaze over and shake out of focus. He had been at this for too long and wouldn't be able to make much more progress without a break, a small walk around the house should be good enough for him. Even though he no longer lived within the manor, Gideon found himself coming home more and more often lately. It was especially nice to revisit one's childhood bedroom and remember a time when things were less chaotic. Though as Gideon passed by the open door of his old bedroom he heard a familiar voice calling out to him.

He quickly stepped into the room and looked around noticing the mirror on his desk calling to him. It was an old item he used to stay in touch with Will, when the enchanter felt that using a cell phone wasn't cool enough for him. He quickly managed a small smile at the sudden reunion of close friends. As he stepped into the image of the mirror to appear before both him and Gavin and looked at the pair with a raised brow.

"I feel a little under dressed. Is today something special and I just forgot?" The joke was half hearted, it was clear from his appearance and tone that the normally perky doctor had been working hard on his own lately.

"Not that I'm not excited to see both of you, but you'll forgive me for being some what preoccupied. We have a bit of a situation over here and I've been dealing with it lately." He looked briefly over each one and studied their faces before wiping his eyes slowly. "This isn't a social call is it?"
