The weather was fairly decent this time of year Carter was busy getting the gallery ready for another showcasing. He was in kind of hurry, Mr. Laurant wanted him to scope out the newest exhibit that the MET was putting on. He knew about beforehand and so did the other employee's at Avante Garde but they were still late coming back from lunch so, It was up to him to go over all the lists and rifle through the boxes and boxes that were stacked in the warehouse. That was the part of his job he hated doing. he would keep checking the watch on his wrist waiting for Lori and Michael to show up. The night before he had called on Lorelei and told her about the new exhibit he was asked to check out and to make a long story short he asked if she wanted to join him it had been so long since they had any time together. Gavin was most likely the one to blame. They had always been close even when they were younger - Carter wouldn't stoop as low as his brother when it came to Lorelei Ashford ( he kinda had a thing for her ) - That was if she wasn't to busy herself.
The foot traffic was thick as thieves and by the time Carter left he knew he had to hurry if he wanted to meet her there between classes. If he had broom he might have flown there but then that would a whole nother story all together. Carter would weave in and out the pedesterians , all of them on the same lunch break as Lori and Michael had been on. He'd keep checking his watch until he reached the corner and he could see the huge stone structure and it's massive stairs that would lead him into the Mueseum. As he acrossed the street his eyes would find her. Ms Ashford as already standing at the bottom of the stairs listlessly twirling her finger through her long hair. " Damn how long had she been waiting..? he thought as he quicken his pace to reach her.

Re: Pros and Khans
It wasn’t often that the enchantress ever held second thoughts, yet in this instance there was an exception. At her cousin’s instance, William had said to maintain appearances with the rest of the arcane families. So when Carter had asked if her brother and she wanted to visit the MET on the Upper East Side, she couldn’t say no. Literally she couldn’t. Despite her tenuous relationship with the eldest of Carter’s clan, Lorelei shared an easy going rapport with him. It wasn’t the first time he had invited anyone of her family to a tour of a museum or a gallery opening. There was no possible way she could have declined without attracting the attention of the others. William, now the head of the family, had decided that it would be vital to their survival to keep the disappearance of their parents quiet. And while some of their usual activities were curbed, others could not be. Standing on the steps of the towering steps facing Fifth Ave, emerald hues would scan the surrounding area looking for the familiar stance of her friend. The sidewalk was bustling with activity that afternoon and yet there was still no sign of the tardy conjurer. Long locks of auburn hair would sway in the wind as her arms were crossed over her chest. Alone and against William’s orders, Michael had opted out of the little excursion. She couldn’t blame him entirely, but she understood the decision her cousin had made.
The paper-thin dark jeans clung to her curves as the simple black scoop-necked tang top hung loosely. Standing on tip-toe to see over the crowd, she was finally able to spot him across the street. Without running up to him, she waited for him to approach her. Pulling a smile on her perfectly painted lips, her chandelier earrings would peek out beneath the massive waves of her hair. He had mentioned something about a new art exhibit that was present, but outside that she didn’t know what to expect. “Took you long enough.” The light humor in her voice would save him from any inquiry. Adjusting the strap of her saddle bag she turned to face the museum, climbing the stairs one at a time. “Michael couldn’t make it; he said he would catch you at some other time.” It wasn’t a complete lie, her brother hadn’t said anything to that affect but if William would have his way he’d make sure the situation was remedied.

Re: Pros and Khans
:: She was already walking up the stairs towards the main entrance of the museum as Carter greeted her there Oh. Alright he didn't even get the chance to greet her properly he'd follow her and skip a few steps to lead the way. He slipped his left hand into his pants pocket, as he mentioned the reason for his tardiness, something about his com-workers taking their sweet time during lunch and he apologized, pursing his lips when she mentioned that Micheal couldn't make it. He chuckled as he opened the door for her. " He didn't have to come up with an excuse.. Lorelei. I know how your family feels about us.. But.. I'm glad you decided to come. "
As he let her through the doors he had a chance to look her over when she brushed passed him, moving into the lobby he held his hands out from his sides. " Here we are... the great Kublai Khan (emperor of Yuan dynasty) a collection of rare antiquities.. " his hands goingback into his pants pockets he looked around the massive lobby, usher were leading groups of patrons on a guided tour. he would pass up joining the group just in case any conversation that came up they could have more privacy. The pair would move through the displays that the met staff painstakingly arranged to specific requirements. The start of the visit was pretty quiet neither one knowing exactly what to say to each other. Carter would glance down at her empty hand for moment as they studied a few sculptures and rare vases on one display. He'd clear his throat as he looked around to see if they were alone for the moment. So... do you remember Eve Cassidy..?
Waiting for her response he continued. Well.. I ran into her a few weeks ago and we went out to dinner after she had stopped by the gallery.." He hadn't seen her in quite a few years and thought it would be good to catch up with her. He wouldn't bore her with the details, but it was a good time. " It was nice...." he'd say moving to another intricate looking piece, he smiled as the lighting that shown down from the ceiling caught the firey flecks of gold that showed in her red hair. He always thought she was a pretty girl but never tried to approach her. Her cousin was most likely the reason for that. " Right up until we were jumped by a raving group of gangly blood suckers...that word said in hushed tones as he looked around again.
